day 13 final day of trip

Today is our last activity and we are building a beaver dam should be fun to do this final project with the other students of white swan, and heritage university students to end our two week field study. Final blog for to end our field study was a heck of a fun time getting to meet the students from the heritage and getting to see some friends from school and all but now were going to say see you all next year or some where down the road in life hopefully we can meet again. It was pretty fun getting to hang with the students from heritage and to see my crew teacher Mrs. Morse one last time before she leaves for Seattle where she can teach more students I'm going to miss having her as my teacher but at least I got to come on this learning experience and now its time to leave fore home and see my family and spend time with them before I got to go back to the school for my link crew training. I know the reason I chose to come on this trip was to get away from home but now I realize it was to get out of my comfort zone and meet new people and I'm glad I did cause if I didn't I probably would be sitting at home laying down doing nothing for hours on end. So yeah I'm gonna come on this trip again next year and meet more new people and learn more things from different tribes and take them back home to teach my friends and family what I learned.

day 12

Today was pretty fun got to go and see a project that took three years to do and then got to go and help make a part of a canoe and it was really fun because I got to finally see what it takes to make a canoe out of wood got a little cut but it wasn't so bad glad I got my tetanus a while back but I'm glad I got to learn about the process and time it would take to make just one met an awesome guy named John Malik Z who helped us learn what some of the tools do the main one I like actually is helping me with my swing for baseball season next year. can't wait to go back and help again I hope I have the opportunity to help them out again soon I found something I can enjoy while doing work. Canoe making is a pretty fun thing I hope I can learn how to make one and actually make one and then go back home to white swan and make some for the tribe and take it up to Mt. Adams lake to see if it will work and if it does maybe make more every year or when I can. I want to be able to help make canoes as a hobby and maybe in the future when I'm older so I can teach my children how to make them and teach some other children younger then me how to make canoes I think John is a really cool guy when it comes to working on canoes I can meet new people and make new friends all across the nation I am now friends with people in Wellpinit and now Coeur d'Alene I have even made friends from Colorado and Washington DC I hope to make more friends in the future.

Day 11 on our way to coeur d'alene

Today we are heading to Coeur d'alene for the last part of our trip I'm so excited to be heading home pretty soon been missing my baby nephew like crazy after a week of not being home. After we got to Coeur d'Alene we met our host for the few days were staying here and they invited us to their first culture dinner at their long house. When they invited us I was looking forward to going to eat traditional foods with the Coeur d'Alene tribe and be able to share that experience with them. After the dinner they invited us to their final activity of culture week we didn't get to go because it took a while to get to our camp site but we had fun sharing the togetherness of their traditional dinner and getting to eat some amazing food with the tribe. I want to come here again next year and learn some more about the tribe and their language and traditions and bring them home and teach some of my family and some students about this experience. I think being on this trip has made me realize I can do a lot more then what I set my eyes and heart on doing when all I felt like doing was being a lawyer now I want to be a lawyer, forester, photographer, and a tribal design drawer. I won't post picture's of my drawings till after I have finished my drawings so far I have one but soon I'll have more.
